Tollywood missing in Award Culture

Is our tollywood missing the standards of Bollywood and Hollywood? This has been a question often asked by many. Often we see certain awards go for askance because at times we find that there are no nominations in those certain categories. Should we select best of the nominations that have come or can we reject them saying films are not up to the mark. Question is, how else we can justify our films getting awards in all categories locally while drawing a blank at National level, sorry…forget Oscars. The cream of National Awards went to regional language films though Vidya Balan could win the Best Actress Award. Where do our tollywood stand on a National scale? Being a multi crore industry…we dole out films in good quantity (forget quality) and the measure of success is scaled by collections and not on those elements like story, screenplay, editing, performance, music etc. Not a bad idea…even In Hollywood and Bollywood as well, we have 90% of films catering to commercial interests but remaining 10% are made just for winning awards and they really win. Yes, we do not have this class and culture in tollywood. Our industry is under the control of few biggies who produce films, buy distribution rights and also are exhibitors, they own theatres or hold lease. Since industry is run purely on commercial basis, it becomes difficult for small budget experimental films to make it big as they are virtually at the mercy of biggies. Recently, we have seen how pictures stayed in Pongal fray with one film after the other slipping out of race and two big films galloped collection of the week or two and left the market for the other films. Post production work delay is the most common excuse for postponing a film as that element of the film can take any number of days to suit the requirement quick or leisurely. This is where you see many tiny keep waiting for theatres, while some pictures with nil collection (viewers wise, as the money will be paid by the interested party) but still run for 50 days or 100 days. (One popular theatre in the city witnessed such a feat) Under such circumstances, anti-piracy MOU was signed making government a party. Good for the industry but there should also be equal measure of concern for small budget films from the government end and the Film Chamber should take every one seriously, and should not be a puppet in the hands of a few influential people. Better initiative would be that Lease of theatres and Dates Available should be made public or displayed at Film Chambers and concerned Departments/Institute of State Government to begin with.

Alphonsa escapes from Police

Hot item bomb alfonsa’s suicide attempt followed by her live in partner Vinod’s dead body found hanging to fan in their apartment has created a big controversy in film circles. While police confirmed this as a case of suicide, Vinod’s parents filed case against alfonsa and her brother Robert suspecting the hand of these two in death of their son. As alfonsa is now discharged from hospital, police tried to interrogate her. On the other side, she applied for anticipatory bail which was rejected by Sessions Judge reasoning that a detailed clarification from Police department is yet to be obtained. In the process of unraveling mysterious reasons behind Vinod’s death, Police reached alfonsa’s apartment but found the house locked. Final reports say, alfonsa escaped from police only to avoid any more nuisance happen in her life while the underlying truths are yet to come out.

Breaking Iron Leg: Dhanush or Pawan?

Generally, a new member from legendary family entering into films will be looked up on with excitement and expectations. Shruthi Hasan’s case was nothing different as she is the daughter of Universal Star Kamal Hasan. Unluckily her career hasn’t taken off properly and she did not enjoy a single success till date in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil only to be names as ‘Iron Leg.’  Now, Shruti is all waiting for release of two big flicks in her career viz. ‘3’ opposite Dhanush and ‘Gabbar Singh’ besides Pawan Kalyan. While the song of ‘Kolaveri Di’ has given good pre-release hype for ‘3’…does we need to see anything about Power of Pawan Kalyan and ‘Gabbar Singh? Shruti would be curious enough to know on who will break her ‘Iron Leg’ image by giving a good success.

He has done what Mahesh could not?!

There was lot of demand from Fans and general public on Mahesh Babu to rip off his shirt at least in one movie. While rumors about Prince to do this act in Sukumar’s film are in vogue, here comes his cousin sudheer babu building six packs much earlier than Prince. Although sudheer babu’s recent debut flick ‘SMS’ was an average grosser, his ease in doing dances and action stunts is appreciated. Now, it is time for Sudheer to start preparations for second film and he will sport six packs body for the film to be directed by Vamsi Krishna Akella of ‘Raksha’ fame. This new movie will be an action entertainer and sudheer babu tweeted this.  ‘Started training for my new movie. learning a lot of new skills for figths & dances. Hopefully I will learn without injuring myself. will be sporting a six pack body in this movie as the story demands,so started hitting the gym regularly.Unlike earlier where I built my body on my own with little knowledge,now I have prof people helping me out so very confident with d results.’ Of course, Sudheer has a toned body from his college days as he is a sports person. Now, he is just trimming it.

Charan goes for secret marriage

Legendary singer SP Balasubramaniam’s son spb charan is always in bad focus for one reason or the other. Earlier, it was the allegation of rape attempt by sexy vamp artist Sona and now it’s news about his second marriage which happened as a secret occasion. Rumor mills from K-town say that Charan kept his second marriage under the wraps after break up with his first wife, who settled in the US of America. Along with close family members and few friends like director Venkat Prabhu, Premgi and Yuvan Shankar Raja attended the wedding that took place in Tirupathi. Charan’s second wife (name known to be as Aparna) belongs to an orthodox family. Charan might introduce his new wife to public very soon.

Nitya becomes Physically Challenged

From the very debut till now, heroine nitya menon has shown dissimilarity in selection of movies. Currently she is focusing more on meaty roles in Kannada and the best offer before her is the film ‘Mynaa’ directed by Naga Sekhar where in Nitya to play lead role opposite Chetan in love story. Reports say that Nitya will portray a physically challenged girl. ‘She is fabulous actor. I did not see any other actor for the role,’ said director planning the release of film even in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam along with Kannada. Story is based on a real life case handled by Assistant Commissioner of Police BB Ashok Kumar. This top cop has handled 94 serial murder cases and director has converted one of them as plot for this film. Hero character done by Chetan will commit 35 murders only for sake of his girl. The couple continues to live together even today without having married.

Fans Happy: Rachcha Release Confirmed

Pushing away all the rumors to a corner, NV Prasad, one of the producers of ‘rachcha’ has announced yesterday that their film is going to release in first week of April. While rumors of film getting delayed till May are making rounds in market and Ramcharan’s injury during shoot of a song still troubling, this announcement from producer and director Sampat Nandi will definitely serve like a relief.  Audio composed by Mani Sharma is already topping the charts and expectations are very high on the movie. ‘We have completed the shooting and dubbing works. Currently DTS mixing is going on. As all the remaining post production works will come to an end very soon, April first week would be the release of ‘rachcha.’ Response for audio is awesome,’ said NV Prasad.

Director Chandu, more famous for films like ‘10th Class’ and ‘Notebook’ is soon to start his next venture with charmi in lead playing the role of a Prostitute. Story of the film main revolves around prostitute, a writer and a singer. We know that heroines are dying to do prostitute characters once actresses like Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, Anushka and others exploited too much out of them. How Mohan Babu on par with Late NTR?

According to him, he is the first person in his family, to receive a Nandi Award. He also revealed the fact that late NTR has not received Nandi Best Actor Award at least once in his career. Similarly, his father Mohan Babu has also not won Nandi Best Actor Award at least once. So, both are similar in this aspect.  Currently, Manoj is essaying the role hero in the movie, 'Oo kodathaaraa..vulikki padathaaraa'. His sister Manchu Lakshmi is producing this movie. 'SMS' movie's hero, the son-in-law of super star Krishna, Sudheer Babu is gearing up to do his second venture as a hero. This time he is going to work with director Vamsi, who earlier directed 'Raksha', a Ram Gopal Varma's own production's movie. The movie's title is considered as 'Aggipulla'. As the story demands, Sudheer Babu will show his six pack abs in this movie. He appointed a professional trainer for his body fitness. It is a known thing that his 'Bava', Mahesh Babu also, appointed a professional trainer for his latest project in the direction of Sukumar where Mahesh wishes to show his six pack abs. We have to wait and see whether Sudheer Babu follows his bava in giving blockbusters or not.

S.P. Balu Should not do it!

One of the all time greatest singers of tollywood, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam is always busy in giving recitals, acting as judge in singing talent hunt programs in TV channels. Even today, he is given many offers to sing the songs in movies. However, he is singing the songs selectively in movies. Naturally, if any person puts on weight and appear to be fatty, we treat him as the man with lack of charm and glow. Rachcha P-Gossips are Trash

It is heard that some of the Mega Power Star Ram Charan's fans are getting embarrassed with the gossips of 'rachcha' movie's postponement news, which is created by some of the media sources. Having learnt the seriousness of this matter, we have tried to know the truth behind these gossips. And here are the latest updates of this info.  Although, Ram Charan has not completed the balance one and half songs shoot, the makers are still stick on to the release date of the movie as 5th April. Either by hook or crook, they want to finish the remaining part of the shoot under any circumstances in the stipulated time. If  they miss the release date of 5th, they will surely release the movie on 12th April for sure. Also, it is heard that Ram Charan is also stubborn to complete the balance songs shoot. Moreover,many theaters across the state are planning to exhibit the movie on 5th April. They have already given the advances to the distributors.  Meanwhile, some of the creative experts are said to have created some cooked up stories about the postponement of the movie. One of such story is Chiranjeevi had seen the preview of the movie and suggested the director many cuts and changes and hence is the cause of the delay of the project. When we contacted the reliable sources, they said all these stories are trash and they will prove this fact by releasing the movie on or before 12th of next month.

Conspiracy on Ram Charan Rachcha

Mega Power Star Ram Charan's 'Magadheera' created sensations not only in getting good collections but also facing many controversies. We have seen how Vangapandu made a hulchul in TV channels attributing his song was copied in the movie, and that song was 'Em pillo eldamosthava'. After making the noise for ten days, he stayed calm. Some gossips were heard that he received a handsome amount from the makers to keep quiet. Even before the movie, 'rachcha' is going for a censor, it is facing many gossips and controversies. It is learnt that a woman welfare association has reportedly given an online complaint against the movie makers. Their complaint is that the hero and the heroine danced vulgarly near the statue of lord Buddha. In the movie's trailers we can see a background set which consists of a statue which slightly resembles lord Buddha, where the hero and the heroine dance for 'Vaana vaana velluvaye' song. "Maybe the woman association is blackmailing the makers of 'rachcha', seeking some money", says one of the observers. However, Mega fans are suspecting that if there is an involvement conspiracy of their rival heroes fans, who are eagerly waiting to flop the movie. We have to wait and see how well the makers of 'rachcha' will overcome these kind of obstacles before the release of the movie.

Can 'Dorakadu' give Break to Vishnu?

After the super success of 'Dhee', which was released in the year 2007, Manchu vishnu has not delivered a hit at the box office. His movies like 'Krishnarjuna', 'Saleem' and 'Vasthadu Naa Raju' were flopped at the box office miserably. Many of his fans are waiting for one more success from him like his 'Dhee'. Currently, vishnu is doing the project 'Dorakadu' without giving much publicity to the media. This movie's shoot is almost in its finishing stages now. Hansika is doing opposite to him. Chakri is scoring the music while G.Nageswara Reddy is directing it. vishnu himself is producing this movie under the banner 24 Frames Factory.

Why RS & why not CM for Chiru?

The news of chiranjeevi elected for Rajyasabha, seems to be not go well with some of the Mega fans. As per them, "We have expected that chiranjeevi would be the future CM of the state, if he continues remain to be in the state politics, and now he has missed that golden chance with this innocent move. However, sources close to the Mega family are coming up with interesting explanation on chiranjeevi's latest move. According to them, if chiranjeevi is offered the CM post in the state, many leaders raise the protests as on what basischiranjeevi is offered that post and chances are there to argue about the status and seniority of chiranjeevi. Having anticipated all these protests, the Congress High Command decided to implement a separate strategy to offerchiranjeevi the CM post. As per this strategy, chiranjeevi will be elected for Rajyasabha first, later,he will be made a Union Minister, which levels with the status of CM. There after, he will be made the CM of the state just before the general elections, 2014. Then there won't be any chances for the local Congress leaders to question about the status and seniority of chiranjeevi, as he will be enjoying  the status and the seniority of the central minister post by that time.

Vishnu's Heroine gives birth to Twins

celina jaitley, the popular name in Bollywood circles debuted in Telugu besides Manchu Vishnu with ‘Suryam’ is married to an hotelier Peter Haag in 2011 and settled in Dubai. As per the news, the pregnant Celina was expected to deliver in March. Now into her due fates, she has given birth to twin boys today.  As per the twitter account of Peter Haag, ‘I am so happy to inform you that Celina and myself have been blessed happy healthy twin boys, Winston and Viraaj. I am over the moon!’ He even gave press note informing that Celina and boys are doing very well. Her next film ready for release is ‘Will You Marry Me?’ During the maternity bed rest, Celina tweeted, ‘Maternity break...its difficult to dance n seduce the hero whilst pregnant with twins.’ Well, its time for mummies in Bollywood…firstly we had Aishwarya Rai then Lara Dutta and now Celina.

In South, for any hero to have a long innings in film industry it is mandatory for him to secure a mass image. That is the reason why, Chiranjeevi or Balakrishna is remembered more than their contemporaries. They were trendsetters in delivering blockbusters which literally shook the BO in mid 1980 and 90’s. While Nagarjuna has succeeded only partially in achieving this milestone, now it is let for Naga Chaitanya but he is surely stumbling. Coming to other top hero Venkatesh, he was versatile throughout and Daggubati successor rana initially adhered to his Babai’s path. Fortunately, ‘Naa Ishtam’ is one film from rana where in his characterization and dialogues mouthed are making Daggubati Fans feel happy about. ‘Yes, rana has the skill and dexterity to fulfill the dearth of a mass hero from Daggubati family. He has well groomed body and a good family background which will come as big advantages. He needs to be just selective in scripts and directors.
