Two top heroes, Venaktesh and mahesh babu although entered into Sankranti race as rivals with ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Businessman’ have each completed 50 days. The two pictures attracted huge publicity and retained their date with Pongal. While nothing great was announced about two films till date, initial publicity blitz says that two films are hits commercially. Producer Bellamkonda Suresh said in a press release that efforts of the unit were rewarded and ‘Bodyguard’ stood out as a family entertainer. He thanked the audience for making movie one of the good hits in Telugu this year. SS Thaman was the music director of both the films.

Again, it's time for Semi Porn in Tollywood

After the disappearance of Shakeela from main film Malayalam circuit, there is big dearth for semi-porn films in South. Though few other heroine names sprouted but none were able to stick as deep and as thick as Shakeela. From last two to three weeks, a casual glance at our Telugu newspapers gives a strong opinion that small time producers and distributors are trying out their luck by picking up few dubbing flicks which are absolutely spiced up for the tastes of B & C grade masala lovers. Films like ‘anagarikam, Madanmohini and Manmadhulu’ are some of them which are attracting the audience with their attention grabbing posters. Nevertheless, a particular set of audience in B & C centers always adored these pictures. So, one has to wait and see, how far these business tricks for short term benefits will work out for producers and distributors.

Who will be the Coolest in Summer Heat?

Summer will be the most favorable season for our Producers to cash upon. With schools closed and holidays in full swing, usually family audiences will love to jump into theatres without considering either it is a weekend or mid week days. 2009 is still haunting Junior NTR!

junior ntr aggressively campaigned for Telugu Desam Party in 2009 dreaming for a big political career in future. Taking full support from his uncle Nara Chandrababu Naidu, he drew all fires on Congress and PRP those times. However, none knows that special judicial process that took almost three years of time to raise summons on NTR for violating the election code during his campaign in Madhira, Khamman district. Judge of Madhira Court issued summons to NTR for violation of election code by campaigning in the town even after the completion of permitted hours. NTR needs to attend before the judge on 20th of this month in connection with this case. One has to wait and see…how TDP will come forward to rescue NTR from this case.

No Cancellation of 'Badshah' for NTR

Young Tiger NTR's new movie in the direction of Srinu Vytla will be launched on 18th of this month. Kajal Agarwal will do opposite to NTR in this prestigious project. This movie was tentatively titled 'badshah'. If the gossips are to be believed, this title will be cancelled and the reasons are said to be NTR said no to the title, as this title is frequently used for some of Mahesh Babu's recent movies ads. And Mahesh Babu has the rights to hold this title.  Having heard these gossips, NTR's fans are reportedly furious over the gossip mongers. According to them, 'badshah' is the right title to suits the image of NTR among the masses. It is also heard that some of the heads of fans associations have already sent messages to NTR not to leave the title 'badshah' for his movie in the direction of Srinu Vytla. After a long gap, forgotten malasri is coming back on Telugu circuit with the dubbing flick titled as ‘Bommali – Ninnu Vadala,’ the very popular phrase from the saga of ‘Arundhati’ spelled by actor cum dubbing artist Ravi Shankar aka Sai Ravi, brother of dialogue king Sai Kumar. ‘Bommali’ is dubbed version to Kannada film ‘Sakthi’ directed by Anil Kumar was a commercial hit in Karnataka. The heavily graphics oriented film is produced by Akula Vijay has a right mix of action and sentiment. Anil said that, save for the title there are no similarities with the 2009 Tollywood blockbuster and this ‘Bommali.’

Rachcha All Time Record Business in EG

Mega Power Star ram charan has created a tremendous record in East Godavari District through his forthcoming movie, 'Rachcha'. As per the reports, Purvi Pictures, that is owned by Mr. Raju of Vizag city, has bought the movie's rights with an all time high price of Rs.2.40 crores for East Godavari Area. Earlier, Geetha Film Distributors was expected to release the movie in the district. However, due to this all time high price offer, the makers of the movie had to give the movie's rights to the Purvi Pictures. This business agreement was reportedly completed on 3rd March.  Meanwhile, 'Rachcha' audio is releasing on 11th of this month in Hyderabad. All the members of Mega family are expected to grace this mega event. The movie is being planned to  release on 29th of this month. Tamanna is the heroine. Senior music director Manisharma is rendering the music of this film. Sampath Nandi is directing this film under Mega Super Good Films.

Hat Trick Hero Fails to Ignite BO

Though belonged to Tamil origin, hero Karthi like his brother Suriya is gifted with strong Fan following here in Telugu too. Scoring a good hat trick in Telugu with ‘Yuganiki Okkadu, Awara and Naa Peru Siva,’ his one more flick ‘malli gadu’ is released last week which is of course his debut project in Tamil titled as ‘Paruththiveeran.’ It’s the same film which helped Priyamani to win National Award in Best Actress category.  Unfortunately critic reports on the film are positive but collections wise, there seems to be little disappointing figures reported primarily from middle and lower class centers. While the above mentioned three flicks are a good mix of intense emotion along with commercial elements, ‘malli gadu’ lacked in commercial focus. Performances by Karthi, Priyamani and the country side nativity selected are heart rendering yet this film is declared of failing to ignite the BO. Nevertheless director Ameer’s wonderful efforts, superb cinematography are big plus for the film.
