'Magadheera' in Mumbai

When 'Magdheera' became a hit, it was touted that Ramcharan Tej is well suited for manly roles and his projection as an embodiment of valour has come a long way. Now he is on a different track though he carries some of the old shades with him and wants to recreate the magic of an angry young man on the lines of Amitah Bachchan. Thus came the idea of the remake of Zanjeer allowing Cherry to begin his Bollywood innings. The movie will be launched on April 20 in Mumbai. Apoorva Lakhia will direct the film and the heroine is yet to be finalized.

Daruvu progressing

Unfazed with the delay of the release of his film nippu, Raviteja is going ahead with his next film Daruvu under the direction of Shiva. Shooting of the film is progressing in Bangkok where the unit is filming some important scenes and songs. Nearly 50 per cent of the film shooting is complete and plans are afoot for March 15 release. The film is a socio fantasy in which Tamil actor Prabhu is playing the role of Yama. Taapsee pairs with Ravi Teja in the film, produced by Burgupalli Shivaramakrishna under Sri Venkateswara Entertainments banner. Vijay Anthony is scoring music.

Mallu babe nithya menon having a good run in South film circuit is in similar situation as Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) wanted a ban on her future releases. The issue has roots in Nithya showing some sort of head strong attitude in meeting and signing a project of senior producer Anto Joseph when he requested her for call sheets.        Out of ignorance, nithya menon answered her manager to arrange a meet at some other scheduled time as she is busy. Felt insulted by this, the producer in subject has made KFPA to issue a circular about imposing the ban on two of her future releases. What the Association demands in particular is an apology from actress for showing adamancy towards a senior film maker. One has to wait and see…whether Nithya will render a public apology or how else the problem will be solved?

Given the kind of opening tsunamis each of our Telugu star hero films are creating, Fans of all the heroes are more than satisfactory. First it was ‘Pokiri’ followed by ‘Magadheera’ and then it was time for ‘Dookudu,’ ‘Oosaravelli’ and ‘Businessman’ to rewrite one or the other records. One film that is drawing concentration of market sources now days is ramcharan’s ‘Rachcha’ readying for release in next month. Trade analysts say, ‘Mega Family hasn’t offered a massive blockbuster in recent times. ‘Rachcha’ seems to have all the spice needed to have its name placed on the first sheet of Tollywood records. Makers are planning for such kind of a release where ramcharan will find no strong opponents in any form. So, the target is set directly on shaking the top record holders.’

Balakrishna Copying Pawan Kalyan?

It seem Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna is following the footsteps of Power Star Pawan Kalyan to some extent. It is a known news that Balakrishna is essaying three roles in his forthcoming movie, 'Adhinayakudu'. May be co-incidentally, one of the get ups of Balakrishna resembles Pawan Kalyan's get up in 'Panjaa' movie, consisting rough beard, rugged look and dark glasses.  And now, Balakrishna's new project in the direction of Ravi Chavali will be started soon. The movie's name has been confirmed as 'Srimannarayana'. As per the sources, it is learnt that Balakrishna will do the role of reporter in this movie. In retort, Balakrishna's fans are saying that their hero never copies others and in fact, others only copy his acting skills.

Producers Call for Ban on Nithya Menon

Malayalam producers strongly call for a ban on the hot beauty Nithya Menon. They are even going to halt the release of the Nitya Menon’s upcoming movies ‘Usthad Hotel’ and ‘Bachelor Party’. Nithya Menon apparently failed to discuss an issue about signing a project with producer Anto Joseph on the sets of her other film Thalsamayam Oru Pennkutty. Instead, Nithya asked her manager to look into the matter and arrange for a meeting at a convenient time. This has irked the producer and he took the matter to the KFPA which initiated a non-cooperation stand on the actress. Freshly the Kerala Film Distributors' Association (KFDA) sent a circular to all its members on the same. However, it was reported that the KFDA has not imposed any ban but issued a letter based on producers' association request. The problem here that Nithya has signed for these two films when she was facing a ban. So if the actress apologize its ok else, the release of her two movies will be halted. Interesting to see how things take shape.

Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Get 9 crores Gift

Mom Sharmila Tagore has gifted her daughter Soha Ali Khan and soon to-be son in law Kunal Khemu a costly apartment on the occasion of the couple’s wedding. Sources say that Soha has been gifted a new flat worth 9 crores located at the posh Sunder Villa near linking road in the upmarket of Mumbai.  Sources reported that each floor of the nine-storied building will be occupied by just one flat and will have an exclusive car parking. Soha and Kunal will live on the top-floor and residents can take their vehicles right up to their respective floors by special erected lifts. No Kannada Debut for Sameera Reddy

Puri Completes Pawan's Rambabu Script

Dynamic director Puri Jagannadh has completed writing script for his new movie 'Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu' which features Power Star Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. The news has been confirmed by BVS Ravi via his micro blogging account, “Script completed for “Cameraman Ganga Tho RamBabu”. Surely @purijagan is going to create d biggest sensation of his as well as PSPK’s career.”, he says. Pawan is playing the role of Rambabu, a journalist (news reporter) for the second time in his career in this film. The title logo of Cameraman Ganga Toh Rambabu released last week received thumping response from the audience and especially the fans of Pawan Kalyan.  There are huge expectations on this film as the duo are teaming up after 11 years.

Prabhas’ Rebel Movie in RFC

Young Rebel Star Prabhas’ upcoming movie ‘Rebel’ is currently undergoing shoot in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Rebel is in the last leg of production and the entire shooting will be wrapped up with this schedule. Although reports suggest that the film is getting ready for this summer release, it looks highly doubtful given the magnitude of post-production works and other patch work scenes. Recently, music director Thaman has backed off from the film and now director Raghava Lawrence is rendering the music. Also, initially, Anushka has opted out of the project due to issues with Lawrence. So Prabhas would be romancing with Tamanna and Deeksha Seth in this action thriller which is produced by J.Bhagwan and J. Pulla Rao. Rebel movie boasts of great action episodes canned in Bangkok.

Devudu Chesina Manushulu Launch in Feb

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and dynamic director Puri Jagannadh's new movie 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu' will be launched on February 17 and the venue is yet to be known. However, the regular shooting of the movie will commence from March 1 and Puri is planning to complete the movie in a single schedule without any breaks.  Ileana is romancing Ravi Teja in Devudu Chesina Manushulu for the third time in her career. BVSN Prasad is the producer and Raghu Kunche is the music director. Earlier, Ravi Teja and Puri combination deliveerd super hits like 'Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam', 'Idiot' and 'Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai'.

Love Failure Censor Report

Siddharth's forthcoming release Love Failure has completed censor formalities and obtained clean U certificate by the authorities. The movie is gearing up for release on February 17 on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri. Siddharth is producing the movie on Saudamini Creations and Y Not Studios banners. Love Failure is touted to be a romantic comedy entertainer directed by debutant Balaji Mohan. Amala Paul is playing female lead and Thaman has scored the music.

That's saying a lot right there after he has given several hits that made much noise, literally. Sree Mani, who came into the limelight considerably in his lyrics for the film 100% Love last year, shines again in the lyrics for this album with his deft wordplay and notable expressions alike. Ample care while recording could have made the playback singers' rendition free of mistakes. While all songs have female voices in them, it's surprising to see that only one song credits the lady singer. (This review credits them as a part of "chorus" for the lack of appropriate credits from the inlay card.) On the whole, the songs catch up with only a couple of hearings and impress casual audience among the youth, at who the album is targeted. 1. History-ki andanaTTi mystery-le yee prEma! (Parvathi, Parvathi!...) (Duration: 3:21 minutes) (Rating: 4.0/5) Playback: Siddharth's rendition suits the mood of the song. The chorus fits in. Techno effects on playback bring an interesting twist to the rendition laced with retro instruments. Mispronunciation: ve llaavE (instead of "veLLaavE"). Lyric: The song signifies an agonized, present-day lover who goes around singing he failed in love, joined by others in a similar situation. Expressions such as "gunDe pinDi gunDu koTTaavE"  are fitting to the theme and tone of the song. (Note the usage of "gunDe pinDi..." with a positive connotation in song #2 of the album.) Wordplay like "macchukainaa acchu lEdE" is notable even in such a short lyric. The reference to "Columbus" as a rhyme for "syllabus" in the next line was irrelevant as such. At the end of the saakii(prelude) sung by the chorus, "kaligE lOpE" could have fit better if it was "kalugu lOpE" with no change in the meaning. The lyric bears a tangential thematic resemblance to the song "My love is gone!" from Arya 2. Tune/Interlude/BGM: The tune catches on instantly. Percussion in the interlude foot-tapping in its own way. The orchestra seems retro-styled, especially because of the wind instruments. The BGM also follows suit with the bass guitar and other ensemble. 2. paatikELLU vyarthamEnaa! (intezaar-E intezaar-E...) (Duration: 4:12 minutes) (Rating: 3.5/5) Playback: Karthik infuses freshness into the song with his rendition. Suchitra does not seem an apt choice. Her stress and vocalization of certain syllables does not seem appropriate for the song. Both singers are flawed at more than a few places. (The rating for this song suffers from these mispronunciations.) Mispronunciations (by both singers): ko TTalaa (Was it supposed to be koTTElaa or koTTi alaa?), jOrE(sung with the wrong ja, a taalavyam instead of a dantyam), chooDanandO & choostunTE (both words sung with the wrong cha, a taalavyam instead of a dantyam), ve llivirise (sung veLLi-virise sounding like two different words meaning "went and blossomed"!), vayasuvaa Ni (sung vayasuvaaNNi changing the meaning totally!), and so on. Lyric: The song seems to indicate a 10-day parting between the lead pair during which time love blossoms. (Observe the wordplay on the word "padi"). Reference to haikus and naaniilu in the lyric is appreciable; "chinni chinni kavitalunna pustakamlaa..." may seem redundant in a way but could be seen as setting the stage for these references. The line "ninnu ma~ravaDam marchipOyaa!" is as expressive as the tone of the song can get. Tune/Interlude/BGM: The tune seems very familiar, but there's an air of freshness associated with it still and it cathces up with just a few times of listening. The beat seems oft-repeated. Violin in the interlude, and in the BGM, is impressive. 3. Love, love, love... (Happy, happy heart attack-E love!) (Duration: 2:04 minutes) (Rating: 3.0/5) Playback: Siddharth starts off alone but croons along with chorus voices for most of the song that follows. Lyric: Celebrating the feeling of love, the lyric uses cricket as a backdrop for one of the stanzas (probably thematically). "aalOchanalE peelistE... oopiritO pani lEdu" is one of the notable expressions in this bit song. Tune/Interlude/BGM: The interlude is synthesized well. The "yapping" could have been more in the background than occupying the foreground at times. The tune is okay but not quite catchy or hummable, making this more of a play-and-go kind of song. 4. havvaa havvaa havvaa havvaa havvaarE! (mElukOraa, mElukOraa...) (Duration: 3:04 minutes) (Rating: 3.0/5) Playback: Thaman is okay as the singer here. He has his share of mispronunciation too, in such words as "baaram" (instead of "bhaaram", twice), using the taalavya cha instead of dantya cha in words like man chuand chakkerakELi. The female singer(s) is (are) not credited. Lyric: The lyric points "che~rigipOye manchu te~ra" signalling the dawn of love, but seems to also hints of other shades of love. "prEmaki too~rupu tappa teliyadu paDama~ra" is a beautiful expression hidden behind a BGM. Tune/Interlude/BGM: The song starts off with a hint of catchiness but that's lost somewhere down the way as the song proceeds into the pallavi that's composed of short lines. The beat is okay. On the whole, the song seems somewhat out of place in the album. The music does not have the same urge or spirit as the lyric "mElukOraa, mElukOraa!". 5. paatikELLU vyarthamEnaa! (intezaar-E intezaar-E...) (Duration: 4:12 minutes) (Rating: 3.75/5) Playback: The same comments as those for song #2, including the mispronunciations, suit this song too. Lyric: The same lyric as song #2, cleverly written to suit possibly an altogether different mood this time, is impressive thus as a male solo reprise. (Observe how the "binduvalle unna nannu jallu laagaa maarchinaavE!" or "~rEpu anna bhaavamanta maayamaindO!" could be interpreted if this one is assumed to be a pathos number after the protagonist's lady love has bade a farewell to his life.) If this song is a pathos number as it may seem, the reference "ee padi rOjulu" may not be really justified this time (or will it be, again)?
